1. Using Server Image to Deploy NetWare Servers
-----------------------------------------------
Server Image is designed to create images using SmartSector(TM) technology.
Using Server Image, you can create compressed image files of your DOS and
NetWare partitions. The images can be used to deploy new servers for your
organization or to quickly bring servers online for demos or tradeshows.

When restoring a 4.x or 5.0 server image, some of the following parameters
may need to be edited (depending upon the target environment):
A. server name in AUTOEXEC.NCF
B. NIC driver
C. I/O address of NIC
D. network number bound to NIC
E. IPX internal network number
F. server license file

You will also need to remove Directory Services and reinstall it after
restoring your image so the restored server does not conflict with existing
servers. If you are creating a new server in an existing tree, check the
Time Server Type in AUTOEXEC.NCF and edit it if necessary.

2. Known Issues
---------------
2.1 Server Image is a DOS executable that runs from the DOS partition
on the NetWare server. Because DOS is limited to eight drives,
you will not be able to see or manipulate drives past the eight-
     drive limit.

2.2 Server Image does not support NSS partitions. We are currently
working with Novell to get the information we need to support NSS in
     the future.

2.3 When the source server being imaged is using a 3COM 905b network
interface card (NIC) to connect as a client of another server as the
destination of the image files, Server Image may hang during image
creation if the connection speed is 100mbps. No problems have been
encountered when the connection speed is 10mbps or when restoring
image files at either connection speed. There have been no problems
encountered in using a 3COM 905 (non "b" version) NIC.

2.4 If your BIOS is old, it may incorrectly report the size of a large
hard disk drive to Server Image.
