1. NetWare patches
-------------------
1.1 We strongly recommend you patch your NetWare servers
as recommended by Novell on their Minimum Patch list at
http://support.novell.com.

2. Using ServerMagic while other NLMs are loaded
-------------------------------------------------
2.1 No other NLMs should be loaded and running when you
load SMAGIC.NLM. ServerMagic dismounts all volumes; no other
NLMs are able to read data from the disk. Also, most
operations completed by ServerMagic require the server to
either reboot or re-initialize NetWare. For example, if
INSTALL.NLM is already loaded and you enlarge a NetWare
partition using ServerMagic, the free space will not be
seen by INSTALL.NLM until after the server has rebooted
or re-initialized.

3. Known issues
----------------
3.1 ServerMagic will not recognize a drive when there is
an NTFS Striped Volume partition on the same hard drive as
a NetWare partition. NetWare's media manager API will not
allow addressing the physical drive.

3.2 ServerMagic 3.0 for NetWare does not support NSS
partitions. We are working with Novell to get the
information we need to support these in the future.

3.3 On NetWare 3.12, do not move the DOS partition away
from the beginning of the disk. When partitions start at
the beginning of the disk, they reserve one track of space.
When that partition is moved to the right, the NetWare 3.12
INSTALL.NLM reports this as an invalid partition. The
solution, if this were to happen, would be to move the DOS
partition back to the beginning of the disk. NetWare 4.x and
NetWare 5 do not have this problem.

3.4 While running NetWare, if any HPFS, NTFS, or FAT
partitions are created or moved above the 1024 cylinder boundary
on the disk, the NetWare INSTALL.NLM will incorrectly read
partition table errors. NetWare will boot and run just fine.
This is a limitation of the INSTALL.NLM. To correct the problem,
move the partition to where it is not past the 1024 cylinder
boundary, or (on NetWare 4.x) set the "Set IGNORE DISK
GEOMETRY=ON" from the server console.

3.5 Currently, ServerMagic cannot recover gracefully after
a power loss while moving a partition.

3.6 We have seen occasional server ABENDs when IDE.DSK is
loaded. We recommend using either the ISADISK.DSK driver (dated
4/93 or later) or the NWPA and appropriate *.HAMs (dated 10/96
or later), etc.

3.7 Occasionally, the "Acquiring Drive Information..." process
seems to be slow. This occurs when an IDE CD-ROM drive is set up
as either a primary or secondary master IDE drive. To correct
this problem, set your IDE CD-ROM drive to be either a primary
or secondary slave.

3.8 For administrators running Rconsole, there is a command line
switch "NWB" which will force the server to reboot when
ServerMagic is terminated. This will allow Rconsole to continue
to work after the reboot.
